How can you boost the credibility of journalism in society though so that people will want to consume it? What about increasing investment in investigative journalism to get more interesting stories?

Personally I'm never going to say no to "we should fund more high-quality investigative journalism!" Unfortunately that's the stuff that is most expensive and probably least remunerative from a balance-sheet standpoint, which is why so much of it is now underwritten by outside philanthropy (e.g., ProPublica). A truly important investigation can take a year or more to produce, and not all investigations pan out, which is challenging if you're simultaneously trying to build a direct pipeline to your audiences through newsletter subscriptions or Instagram followers or whatever.
